Air Force Academy, India
Air Force Hangars with Fosroc static dissipative flooring system.
THE PROJECT
The Air Force Academy located in Dundigal, India is spread over 7,000 acres of land and is used to train cadets from all streams at one location. It imparts training to the flying, technical and ground duty branches as well as officers of the Indian Army.
The academy has six hangar areas, each being approximately 2200sqm. Fosroc’s involvement during the first phase of the project was to upgrade three of the six hangars by primarily covering the floor undulation with an epoxy underlay material.
THE SOLUTION
Air hangar floors have special requirements and specifications. Whether in a maintenance hangar, fuel hangar or storage hangar, floors are expected to possess exacting performance characteristics that help promote operational efficiency and safety.
Fosroc’s involvement during the first phase of the project was to upgrade three of the six hangars by primarily covering the floor undulation with an epoxy underlay material.
Fosroc supplied a static dissipative flooring system, a multi-layer self-levelling system that hardens to a perfect finish offering to reduce electric charging and create a static dissipative floor surface. These are used to safeguard sensitive electronic components and withstand the toughest environments providing a greater abrasion and slip resistance.
THE BENEFIT
The successfully installed static dissipative flooring system provides a compliant, high performance, consistently static dissipative environment for storage of aircrafts to the satisfaction of the operational department of the academy.
The range of solutions specified and supplied for the project was delivered and installed without any issues whilst satisfying the customer’s needs.
